I get a lot of questions on here, almost exclusively from women, about comics. “Ang, I want to get into comics, but it’s such an intimidating fandom! Where should I start?”

A lot of times I’m at a loss for words, because truthfully, lately, there hasn’t been much that has impressed me to the point where I would feel comfortable recommending anyone spend money on it. I am (admittedly) quite picky when it comes to these things, but I think we should be. We work so hard for our money these days. Getting into comics isn’t cheap, and it’s pretty common knowledge that if we wanted to we could read and download them illegally. 

Most of the New 52 that I’ve read hasn’t made the cut. It was either insulting, boring, awkwardly paced or worded. 

But Batwoman and Wonder Woman were both amazing. Fabulous art, good story, admirable and captivating main characters. Oh, and also? They’re both super sexy.

You want to start getting into comics? Here is your opportunity. These are both #1s, and should be available in store or for order at your LCS. In my opinion, you’ll love them.
